So refreshing on summer nights!
This drink was inspired by my friend Pam, because I know she really likes Absolut Ruby Red Vodka. She’s always been so kind and supporting of everything I do, so it was fun to create this and invite her over to enjoy a couple of these on the patio. I don’t use flavored vodkas very often, but I agree with Pam on this one. This post is dedicated to summer evenings on the porch with friends. It’s so refreshing, it’s truly made for summer nights!
Ruby Lemon Drop
- 2 oz Absolut Ruby Red Vodka
- 1⁄2 oz orange liqueur (I use Cointreau)
- 1 t simple syrup
- ½ oz fresh lemon juice
- ½ oz fresh ruby red grapefruit juice
Spread superfine sugar on small plate. Rub lemon wedge halfway around rim of chilled martini or coupe glass. Dip moistened edge of glass in the sugar to lightly coat outside rim of glass. Set aside.
In cocktail shaker, combine Vodka, orange liqueur, simple syrup and juice. Add ice and shake vigorously until well chilled, about 30 seconds. Strain into prepared martini glass. Garnish with a lemon twist or lemon slice and serve neat.
